Message from Our Founder
I have always carried a deep desire in my heart, not simply to be an ordinary Christian, but to be a carrier of God’s glory. I prayed earnestly, asking the Lord to use me in a way that would touch lives everywhere I go, so that whether I was walking down a street, visiting a neighbourhood, or travelling to new cities and nations, I could pray quietly in my heart and see people healed and made whole from all kinds of sickness and disease.
During one of these times of prayer, God spoke to me clearly: “I am sending you to the nations.” I remember asking, “Lord, when and where?”
Just a few weeks later, I met S.I. Bangura, who introduced me to his brother, Captain A.Y. Bangura, who was visiting the UK from Sierra Leone. We sat down together, and I shared with him what the Lord had placed on my heart. He looked at me and said, “Wonderful.” And it was in that moment that the vision for this church and school in Sierra Leone was born.
Every day, I give thanks and praise to Almighty God for His goodness, His faithfulness, and His blessings over this ministry. It is only by His grace and anointing that this work has been established and continues to grow.
As we stand firmly on His mighty Word, I am confident in this promise: He who has begun a good work will see it through to completion.
May God continue to bless all of us, our staff, our students, our families, and our supporters, as we walk this journey together. ~ Shirley Scott

Message from Our Chairman
At Shirley Montessori International School, faith is not just a subject, it is the foundation of all we do. We cultivate a school culture that reflects the teachings of Jesus Christ and encourages students to grow in their faith, character, and understanding of God’s purpose for their lives.
Daily devotions, prayer, Bible study, and chapel services are embedded in school life. Students are encouraged to live out their faith through service, kindness, and ethical choices.
We aim to develop confident young people who not only excel academically but also live with compassion, humility, and conviction.

Message from Our Mother of Charity
At Shirley Montessori International School, community participation has been truly inspiring and has touched every part of school and community life.
The school mothers, in particular, have been a driving force for positive change and a source of inspiration. On one occasion, the mothers proposed designing and sewing the school uniforms as a community business, creating much-needed jobs for local women.
Another time, I was concerned that hungry children would struggle to learn, so we launched a school feeding program. The mothers led the effort by inviting community members to submit meal proposals to feed about 100 children one healthy meal each day. The winning menu included roasted sweet potatoes, fresh fried fish with vegetable sauce, and homemade fruit juice—all for just US$30 per day to serve around 120 children.
What was remarkable was how the entire community benefited: fishermen gained steady income, and local farmers found a reliable market for their sweet potatoes, fruits, vegetables, and cooking oil.
I am confident that with continued collaboration and support, there is tremendous potential to create lasting opportunities for future generations.
